Heat reflective masterbatch
Plastic products, especially those in darker colours, absorb heat from the sun. They expand and contract causing distortion. In the long term this retained heat can lead to thermal stability problems, degradation and product failure.
Roofline products manufactured from rigid PVC, for example, are particularly at risk. However, this heat absorption can be dramatically reduced by using Vynacol polymer specific PVCu masterbatches incorporating heat reflecting infrared pigment technology.
Heat reflective masterbatches can be used in most polymers where they solve thermal stability problems and increase service life by offering heat reflection performance up to 40% better than that obtained from conventionally coloured materials.
